30 Years

Another post. Because trailers still do not care about shortcuts.
• 10 years ago, we acquired Pro-Tec System One.
• The product line started in North Carolina in 1996.
• It turns 30 years old in 2026.
• We brought it to Texas a decade ago and took it further.
This is not a house alarm stuffed into a trailer.
It is also not a modified car alarm dressed up and sold as something special.
Trailers move. They shake. They live in heat, cold, dust, and rain. They are not climate controlled homes or offices. They are not parked sedans. They need a security system that survives real use.
Our systems are built in the USA.
The circuit boards are produced less than three hours away here in Texas by a company we know and trust.
Final assembly happens at our facility.
No mystery parts.
No anonymous factories.
I get the same questions all the time.
Why no wireless sensors?
Trailers need rugged protection. Wireless sensors rely on small batteries. Batteries die. Dead sensors protect nothing.
Why not build GPS and cellular directly onto the alarm board?
Not everyone needs those features. Forcing people to pay more for hardware they do not want makes no sense. We use standalone GPS and cellular modules that are already approved by the FCC and carriers. That saves time, cost, and headaches. It also gives you options.
Purpose built means designed for the job.
Trailers are the job.
That is what we build for.
And to clear things up, Pro-Tec is the manufacturing side and Trailer-Alarms.com is the retail side.
