Confidence booster
It felt pretty good yesterday to get a text from one of my contacts on a government project we recently worked on.
He wasn’t asking about trailer alarms, GPS tracking or anything else that would normally fall into my area. He wanted my opinion on a camera system that could help a driver maneuver and back up a large trailer.
I gave him my initial thoughts, and after our conversation ended, I spent a little time researching what was available. I found an option that looked like it would fit what he needed and sent the information over to him.
It was a simple exchange, but I appreciated it.
We’ve had great communication throughout the projects we’ve worked on together, and apparently that built enough trust that when he needed some advice outside my normal area, he thought to contact me.
I don’t need to sell someone something every time the phone rings or a text comes in. Sometimes being a useful resource is worth more in the long run.
That kind of relationship is something I value in business.
