I saw this sign on a bus heading to the airport after a recent trip to NYC, and the message immediately caught my attention:
“Keep your stuff safe.”
The MTA is saying exactly what Trailer-Alarms.com has been saying for over 20 years.
In fact, one of the very first shirts we had made to promote our business said, “Keep Yer Stuff Safe.”
It was meant to be a little funny, but it helped get the point across. The message was serious then, and it still is today.
Trailer security isn’t only about protecting the trailer itself. You worked hard for that trailer and likely spent a lot of money on it. But what about everything inside?
Tools. Racing equipment. Tack. Business equipment. Personal belongings. Items that took years to accumulate. Some can be replaced. Others may have sentimental value that no amount of money can replace.
And yes, insurance may help replace some of those items. That is, if you have insurance on the contents and if your policy actually covers what was stolen. Finding out after a theft that something wasn’t covered is a pretty lousy time to learn the details of your policy.
For more than 20 years, we’ve been building trailer security systems for different trailers, different uses, and different budgets.
Apparently, the MTA and Trailer-Alarms.com agree on at least one thing:
Keep your stuff safe.
