Dependable
Back in April, after displaying at an event in Louisville, I stopped in St. Charles, Missouri to visit one of my customers before heading to Tulsa for racing. They were knee deep in building units for an EPA project.
That same project came full circle a couple of weeks ago when I traveled to New Jersey and visited the EPA facility where some of those units ended up.
Yesterday, the builder contacted me. They needed something for the project, and they needed it overnight and as early as possible.
There were five of us on the email chain. With a project this size, they also had purchase orders to create, approvals to get and numbers to work through.
I basically told them, “Y’all worry about all of that. I’ll get the order going and shipped. We can straighten out the numbers afterward if we need to.”
It wasn’t a huge dollar amount, and I knew the customer. I knew they were good for it. Holding up what they needed while everyone waited on paperwork didn’t make much sense.
The package arrived in St. Charles less than 18 hours after I first got word they needed it.
Sometimes taking care of a customer means trusting the relationship you’ve built and getting the job done first.
The paperwork will catch up. And it did!
