Like most people, I’d like to keep growing my network. But I’m not interested in growing it just to watch a number go up.
I could send hundreds of connection requests every week to almost anyone. That’s easy.
Instead, I try to connect with people whose work genuinely interests me or whose industries overlap with mine. Security. Transportation. Manufacturing. Motorsports. Small business. Technology. Those are the conversations I enjoy.
Every connection is an opportunity to learn something new, share experiences, and expand my reach beyond my own industry.
If we’ve connected over the years, thank you. I’ve learned a lot from many of you, and I hope I’ve been able to share a little knowledge in return.
To me, a meaningful connection will always be worth more than simply having a bigger number.
