Marketing

Sometimes the best marketing doesn’t look anything like marketing.

Today, a customer reached out because their installer accidentally and admittedly broke one of our surface-mount switches. They wanted a price so they could submit an RFQ.

This customer has purchased quite a few systems from us for government projects over the years.

Could I have charged them? Absolutely.

Instead, I told them I’d send a replacement at no charge.

Did it cost me money? Sure. By the time I include the part and shipping, I’m out less than $20.

What did I get in return?

I reinforced that we stand behind the people who do business with us. I included information on our latest products and even tossed in one of our new Trailer-Alarms.com poker chips.

Sometimes the return on investment isn’t measured on today’s invoice. It’s measured the next time they need another trailer security system and remember how they were treated.

Taking care of good customers has always been one of the better investments I’ve made.
