Membership has its privileges

One of the advantages of belonging to different organizations is that, every once in a while, they give you something you can pass along to someone else.

This week, LinkedIn gave me the opportunity to share a free two-month Premium trial with one of my connections. I’ve had similar opportunities through my PRI membership and with EPARTRADE as well.

I could keep those opportunities to myself.

But why?

If I can help one of the racers I work with make a new connection, get noticed by a sponsor, learn something new, or simply gain access to tools they might not have otherwise, that seems like a pretty easy decision.

Not every opportunity has to come with a price tag.

Sometimes helping someone move one step forward costs you absolutely nothing except a couple of minutes of your time.

I’ve always believed that if you’re in a position to open a door for someone else, you should. Whether they walk through it is up to them, but at least they were given the chance.

That’s a lot better than letting the opportunity expire while it sits in your inbox. Technology has enough abandoned digital coupons already.
