One small installation tip that can save you some frustration years down the road.
If I have the room, I always leave a small service loop near my wire connections.
Is it the prettiest thing in the world? Not always. On this trailer there wasn’t really a good place to hide it, but after a few months you won’t even notice it’s there.
The benefit comes later.
If a connection gets damaged, corrodes, or has to be cut off and replaced, you’ve already got a little extra wire to work with. No splicing in extensions. No wishing you had left yourself another inch.
It takes an extra 30 seconds during the install and can save a lot more than 30 seconds if you ever have to service it.
I made a service loop at all three access points on this trailer. Sometimes the little details are what make future repairs a whole lot easier
