Next Gen
One of the features we’re looking at in the next generation of G2 software is something that sounds simple, but opens up a lot of possibilities.
We’re working toward the ability to give someone tracking access only.
No arming or disarming.
No device management.
No account settings.
Just the ability to see where the trailer, vehicle, or cargo is located.
For companies transporting vehicles or products for hire, this could allow customers to follow along without giving them access to anything else.
The owner of the G2 account will control who has access. They will be able to send a tracking invitation by email and, just as importantly, revoke that access when the job is complete or anytime they feel the need.
For race teams, it means Mom can make sure Dad, the kids, and the race car made it to the next track without having to call every couple of hours asking, “Are you there yet?” Dad will probably still stop for snacks and fuel, but at least there will be one less phone call.
There are plenty of other features being discussed, but this one stands out because it adds convenience without sacrificing security.
Simple ideas are often some of the most useful, and we think this one has the potential to help everyone from race teams to commercial transport companies.
