Saving money

One of the best business decisions I’ve made was bringing production of our G2 trailer security systems in-house.

Over the last 2½ years, we’ve saved more than $50,000 in GPS hardware costs alone by working directly with the manufacturer instead of buying through a third-party supplier.

The easy thing would have been to keep those savings. A few people even told me I should.

I didn’t.

Instead, we lowered the cost of the G2 system and kept the yearly service priced where I believe it should be.

The savings weren’t the only benefit.

We now have direct communication with the GPS manufacturer, complete control over programming, faster problem solving, and no middleman slowing things down.

For me, that’s how business should work.

If I can build a better product, provide better support, and pass along some of the savings to the customer, that’s a win for everyone.

I’m proud of the direction Trailer-Alarms.com has taken over the last few years, and we’re not done improving.
