Sh!t happens

I still don’t like the fact that my web server was breached and down for about 4 days. There was no customer personal data stored on the server, but it is still a critical part of how I run my business.

Oddly enough, seeing a large company dealing with a breach at the same time does provide a little perspective. Companies like that likely have full-time cybersecurity teams, monitoring, and resources dedicated to preventing this kind of thing, and they still get hit.

It doesn’t make the situation acceptable. It just reinforces the reality that no system connected to the internet is ever completely immune. The internet has become a constant battle between security improvements and people looking for ways around them.
