Standardizing

A small change behind the scenes that should make things a little easier going forward.

Recently, we decided to standardize the enclosure size we use for our alarm systems.

Is it a huge deal? Not really. But apparently, sometimes size does matter.

It makes inventory easier for us to manage, gives us more room inside the enclosure, and makes it much easier for a customer to upgrade their system later without having to change everything around.

We recently started working with a new client in the Northeast who is looking at 20+ systems. Since they are building the trailers themselves, we gave them the choice between the smaller enclosure and our new standard size. We didn’t know if mounting space would be an issue.

It wasn’t.

In fact, the larger enclosure made their job easier. We can mount the brake safety toggle directly in the enclosure instead of having them find another location for it on every trailer.

Sometimes product improvements aren’t about reinventing anything. They’re just about paying attention to the little things that make installation, inventory and future upgrades easier.

The old enclosure worked just fine. The new setup simply makes more sense.
