Tech tips 1

Let’s start the week with a simple tech tip about wiring.

Is this the only way to wire a trailer?
No.

But after doing this for over 20 years, I prefer running jacketed wire like this, especially underneath trailers and in areas where equipment, tools, tires, and everything else gets thrown around nonstop. Trailers are rough environments. Vibration, moisture, road debris, and rubbing eventually expose weak shortcuts.

The extra protection helps cut down on future problems and troubleshooting headaches.

I’ll be using this same approach on a couple of “agency” trailer installs coming up in the next few months. When reliability matters, I’d rather spend a little more time upfront than deal with failures later. Funny concept in 2026, I know.
