Every G2 system comes with a dual band antenna.

That antenna MUST be mounted outside the trailer for proper GPS and LTE performance. Steel and aluminum trailers are great at blocking signals. Because apparently trailer walls decided they also wanted a career in telecommunications sabotage.

Some customers do not want to drill through the roof for the antenna cable.

One option is using a side vent like this. I picked this one up on Amazon for under $10.

A few important things:

• Seal everything well
• Use quality sealant
• Point the vent opening away from direct rain intrusion
• Make sure the cable cannot rub on sharp edges over time
• Test the system before finalizing the install

Simple little parts like this can make for a much cleaner install and save headaches later.
