2 of the most underrated and underused tools when installing an alarm system are these.

A good multimeter and a digital circuit tester.

You can get by with just a decent multimeter, but having both makes installs much faster and troubleshooting a whole lot easier if there’s ever an issue.

The digital circuit testers are usually around $10 on Amazon.

For the multimeter, don’t go dirt cheap. Accuracy matters when you’re chasing wiring problems or voltage drops. Borrow a decent one from a friend if you need to.

A few extra dollars on the right tools can save hours of frustration later.
