There are no stupid questions
After more than 20 years in the trailer alarm business, I still get questions I’ve never heard before.
I recently sold one of our basic alarm systems to a company in California. That was all they needed.
The buyer later texted me with a question from the person installing it. They already had a 100-watt speaker and wanted to connect it directly to the alarm’s siren output. According to him, the volts and amps worked out.
My answer was simple: No.
A speaker and a siren are not the same thing. A speaker needs the proper amplifier and an audio signal to produce sound. Our system is designed to activate a 120 dB siren.
The goal is not to make a little noise. The goal is to make enough noise to get attention and make someone think twice about staying near that trailer.
Use the right equipment for the job.
