Troubleshooting
Share
You would think when something stops working, it must be the company’s fault.
That is usually how the call starts.
“The system is acting up.”
“I didn’t change anything.”
Here is what actually happens most of the time.
Trailers move.
They flex.
They bounce.
They vibrate down highways for thousands of miles.
Wires rub.
Grounds loosen.
Connections shift.
Insulation wears thin.
Shorts happen.
The most common issue we see is grounding. A weak or dirty ground will make any 12V system act strange.
It feels like a software problem.
It is usually a mechanical one.
And here is the part most people never see.
If there is an issue on our side, we know fast.
We monitor performance.
We see trends.
We see patterns across units.
Engineers are already testing before the first phone call comes in.
Twenty plus years around trailers teaches you this.
Most “mystery” problems are movement problems.
Check your grounds.
Inspect your wiring.
Protect against vibration.
Your trailer lives a hard life. Your wiring does too.
