Why call me

This yellow square marks where one of our customer’s stolen trailers was located.

The trailer had been parked at home. He figured it was safe enough. There was a dog. There were guns. He was only leaving for a little while.

The trailer had other plans.

Or more accurately, the thief did.

The one thing that saved this story was that he had one of our G2 systems installed. While he hadn’t armed the alarm before leaving, the GPS was still powered because he had kept the trailer battery charged instead of neglecting it.

He called law enforcement.

Then he called me. I’m still not entirely sure why, but I stayed in contact with him while law enforcement worked the case.

Working together, they were able to recover the trailer at the location shown in this screenshot.

There are a couple of lessons here.

Arm your alarm, even when your trailer is parked at home.

Keep your trailer battery charged. A security system can’t communicate if it doesn’t have power.

And remember that most trailer thefts don’t happen because someone was careless. They happen because thieves look for opportunities.

This customer got his trailer back.

Not every story ends that way.
